Being there
Photo taken in Boulder, 2017.
I guess I'm just not that kind of guy craving for new adventures. I do like traveling that's for sure; but I cannot be a wanderlust, like, travel every single day and live a nomad lifestyle. I love my current life, which might be too boring for some people. It's simple -- do my work at home, go to the gym, walk on the red bricks of Pearl street, cook, etc. The pattern repeats itself every single day, without too many changes.
Sometimes I think, this life is good enough for me, and I hope it will never change.
You see the same crowds and same local shops on Pearl. You probably don't know anyone in the crowds and don't go to those shops very often, but they are there. Being there makes you feel peaceful.
You see the same people working out at the gym every time, and the staffs and the trainers. You probably don't know all of them, or only know them by greeting a little bit every time you saw each other. That's enough because they are there.
You go home and see Jack, the maintainer of the apartment, is working in his garage. He is still talkative but nice, talking about his plan for retirement and some bunnies living close by. Whenever you are working in front of the window and see his truck parking there, you feel safe. That's enough because he is there.
Being there.
The status of being there makes me feel I have a fixed spot in time. That feeling of security and serenity is probably the most important thing for me. Change is not a bad thing, but to me, a life without dramatic change is awesome enough.
Maybe I'm just a boring person.
