Recently I've been thinking about my trip to Minneapolis in June, 2019 a lot. Comparing to other places I had traveled to the previous year, such as New Orleans and Santa Fe, Minneapolis is really a boring place. If it’s not because of the conference it’ll probably never be on my list. What’s more interesting is I had been thinking about the trip a lot lately for some reason. What I was thinking about is not the city, but the place I was staying at. Instead of staying in a hotel or a rental house from Airbnb, I tried a new service. Basically, the company rented a bunch of homes, both one bedrooms and two bedrooms and studios in a luxury apartment building, and hired interior designers to design the apartment so it looks super modern and beautiful, just like those you saw in magazines or IKEA catalogue. Then they rent those homes out for travelers, to give them a real feel of being at home.

Since their price was really nice, and covered basically everything. The design is very clean, and high end looking. The thing I like most I guess is the blue wall, and the entire color palette. Blue and white, with some gray.

But what makes it so special that I keep thinking about it? If because it’s a nice luxury apartment, what’s the difference between that and the one I’m living in? Luckily the property is still on the Internet, so I downloaded the pictures. When I looked at the pictures I really couldn’t find something that’s too different than where I’m living now. Maybe it’s the blue wall?

Probably because that was the first time I’m staying in a luxury apartment, and it made me feel living in a designer look apartment. Surely later I lived in some other properties maintained by the same company in Chicago as well, and they are really nice, but for some reason nothing beats the one I was living in Minneapolis. I guess that’s first love? Or once people are used to something it lost all the attraction?

Now I’m trying to restore my state of mind at that time, in order to refresh my life a bit. Let’s try to make life exciting and interesting again, just like the first time we stay in a luxury apartment, and thought, wow never knew people can live in such a nice apartment. Look at the big window, the clean design, the high end kitchen, organized cabinets!
