The Smell of Summer
I just found out that organs café has published several new music videos on YouTube! It’s Ryo playing the piano while Sakana singing the old songs. It is such a beautiful surprise, and I was so so happy to see that they’re still enjoying their music and life. Sakana has an appearance that’s so natural and attractive, and her voice is just so healing and soothing. The way she sings is so relaxed, different, and peaceful. Ryo seems changed his style and looks just so handsome. I am also glad that I fall in love with their music. Their YouTube channel has less than 200 subscribers, and I am one of them!
About how I found them. I always wanted to listen to one song in their single ah~Never forget you, called 夏の匂い (The Smell of Summer). I listened it on my CD back in home, but not a lot; I didn’t even copy the song to my hard drive. The melody of the song, however, frequently flows in my head once in a while, especially during the summer. What’s frustrating is I cannot purchase it from iTunes store; nowhere to find the music online; and even I bought the CD again here, I don’t really have the player to play it.
When I googled the song’s name and organs café, I noticed one website has a screenshot of their new music video of this song. Thank god the link is still effective! I clicked on the link, and yes that’s them recording this song! They updated their YouTube channel with a lot of other songs they recorded in the past year.
The moment Sakana started singing 「鍵」(Lock), the memory of 2014 just flooded back when I was first attracted to their songs.
I feel sometimes I take the music I love, especially their lyrics, too seriously. I take the lyrics as the depiction of my heart, the bode of the future, and the description of my life. I can’t stop thinking about the sad truth and dark reality and lost love in these lyrics, and thought that’s me. The more I think that way, the more sensitive overthinking I’ll become, and the faster what’s described in the lyrics will come true. For the positive songs, I can certainly take the words into my heart; but for the negative ones, I should really stop thinking that what they’re singing is my life. I think I’ve been enslaved, gladly, by them.
So maybe take it easy.
I’m always like this. Jump into anything so fast, and suffocate others, and ruin anything promising. What do I want more? He sacrificed three weekends to come all the way over and see me. He asked me how my day’s been going. He always sent the kiss emoji when I went to bed. Why do I still feel not satisfied, loved, and cared? What the hell do I want then? Just because he didn’t held my hand this time? Or just because he didn’t kiss me when we were sitting on a bench? Even myself think I’m asking for too much.
He’s on the plane for a vacation back home in Florida now. The earliest time we will see each other again will be two weeks later. I don’t know what will happen, but at least I can say I thank him for giving me something I almost gave up on.
Now that he’s not in NY these days, I guess I can relax, and let myself calm down, and take it one step at a time.
