Move it
It is very sunny today, with nice breeze occasionally. I walked all the way to downtown to visit chiropractor’s office. Wearing a tank top, I walked on the sunny side of the road on purpose, because I love the feel of the sun kissing my skin. Or maybe just want to borrow the good lighting to show off my muscles haha. I wore tank tops way less than last summer. Sometimes it’s more of a mood thing I guess. Plus, when you’re in love, when you’re excited about life, you feel wonderful, and you kinda want to show that wonderful feelings, so a tank top does the job. It’s not this summer isn’t good — it’s just plain. If last summer is a dish like Szechuan water-boiled beef, this summer is more like a garlic-ginger fish filet.
I’ve been watching small tutorials for boxing on YouTube for a while, and also jabbed a bit at home. Not that bodybuilding is not good — I still love it the most, but I guess I’m just trying to find a way to become more manly. It’s funny, isn’t it? Growing up I had nothing to do with those boys’ activities: soccer, boxing, even running. Now I want to pursue all of them.
As I walked back and passed Columbus park, the grass was shining in the sun. Usually a bunch of kids were playing soccer there. In the past, I always avoided them, because, as always, I was so afraid that they’ll pass the ball to me and ask me to pass the ball back. I don’t know how to kick a soccer ball at all, and I was so afraid that people will laugh at me. However, I wished they were there today. Even if my kick is way off, or weird, or laughable, I wanted to kick a ball. I wanted that missing part of my life.
Then from the tennis court, a couple of guys came out with rackets. One of them was shirtless, and he showed off a very nice body, sweating all over. I wanted to join them too. I missed that feeling. Last time I was playing tennis without a shirt was in college, already senior year. Now thinking about those times still makes me excited and pumped.
For a moment, I wanted to move my body so bad. Even just sprinting. Even just running. I want to move. I want to live like a man, and do all those sports and just kick, catch, run, jump, punch. I want to get rid of my glasses. I don’t want to do those “artistic“ things any more. I want to do manly things.
